About Drew
I have many passions, but the one that many notice first is my passion for sports. I enjoy all sports, but ask anyone that knows me will say that football is my favourite, and especially Canadian football.

Football has been my sport of choice since I was about 2 years old. I have followed the game since I knew how to present language to it that I knew was acurate to the situations (evidence of this is not suitable for this blog).

I'm a student of the game. This is the game I love and few things give me greater joy than watching football and thinking about what I would do in certain situations.

This is the game I love. Join me in an exploration of the world of football, from around the globe.

Who Does Drew Root For?
I am not just a fan of the game, but a fan of many different clubs.
The Big Ten Conference of the NCAA is one I love to follow with teams like Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Maryland, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Purdue. I also like the Oregon Ducks, who dazzle teams with bright uniforms but also put a great product on the field year after year.
When it comes to the National Football League, my preference is based on players more than teams. I loved watching Peyton Manning work on offence, and because of that, I enjoy watching the Broncos. Marcus Mariota Dazzled at Oregon and made me want to follow the Titans. Becoming a Little has created a desire to follow the Washington Football Team.
While trashing the Commanders is fun for me, my team in the NFL is a different team from that part of the United States. The Baltimore Ravens have been my favourite since I dove deeper into the NFL. I remember watching the young Joe Flacco try to beat Pittsburgh late in the playoffs one year, and since then I wanted to follow the team. They played with a ferocious defence and now have added a great power run defence to match. They are an organization that has a tremendous character which makes me like them even more.

None of those teams, however, outrank the team of my childhood: the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Not cheering for this team was not an option for me. My late mother, whom I love dearly, was a huge Bomber fan, and she passed that down to me, for which I am extremely grateful. It has been many years of cheering for teams that didn't win Canadian Football's ultimate prize, the Grey Cup. I went 22 years before I could witness my Winnipeg Blue Bombers lift Earl Grey's trophy, but in 2019 I can say that for the first time. I still have to catch myself from thinking the Bombers are 10-time Grey Cup champions, which they have been since 1990, but now are 12-time Grey Cup Champions, after ending a 29-year drought in 2019. The city of Winnipeg and the province of Manitoba have celebrated these two wins like crazy, and will until another team takes it from them, at least I will.

GO BLUE!
